Saturday, January 21, 2012, 6:30pm features “Tastes from the Mountains,” a dine around West Virginia culinary tour. (This recepeption is separate from the Cast Iron Cook-Off Competition awards ceremony.) The event is jointly hosted by the Collaborative for the 21st Century Appalachia, West Virginia’s Department of Agriculture and the West Virginia ProStart Program. This year the awards presentation will be featured.
At this culinary tourism extravaganza, the extensive range of West Virginia’s food products is fused into gourmet tastings and then showcased--each representing a particular region of the state. The various tourist regions will be featured in a tapas or “small bites” format providing guests the opportunity to wine and dine on the delectable tastings transformed by The Greenbrier resort staff with ProStart students assisting.
Along with these gourmet hors d’oeuvres, the crowd sipped fine wines and beer from West Virginia. Who will be there? At this event the crowd, mingles with restaurateurs, food lovers, local business leaders, key legislators and community leaders, it was a wonderful opportunity to make new business contacts and renew old ones.
This event is open for individual team members (guest ticket sold separately) and sponsored teams with team members + a guest per each team member..
General public will pay an admission fee of $35 at the door or you can purchase online.
